Abstract

This research aims to determine the method and effect of applying Kober to improve numeracy skills in class 2 mathematics learning at SD Negeri 104 Bengkulu City. This type of research is quantitative research using experimental methods. In this research, there are two variables, namely variable X (use of news media) and variable Y (learning outcomes). The population of this research was all class 2 students, totaling 68 students. This research's sampling technique and sample were 34 class 2B students as the control class and 34 class 2A students as the experimental class. From the research results, it can be concluded that the homogeneity test, with a dk in the numerator of 34 and a dk in the denominator of 34, has an error rate of 5%. The value of F_table is 1.79 because F_calculated is smaller than F_tabel (1.70 < 1.79) which means that the variance is homogeneous so that quantitative analysis of the experiment can continue. The t value is then compared with dk = N1 + N2 – 2 = 34 + 34 – 2 = 66. With dk = 66, and if the error level is 5%, then t_table = 1.6683. Thus, t_count > t_tabel (5.654 > 1.6683) then has a significant effect, which means the working hypothesis (Ha) in this study is accepted, namely that there is an influence of the use of counting box media (kober) on the learning outcomes of grade 2 students at SD Negeri 104 Bengkulu City, while the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected.
